Project 365 Day #48: Recommendation 2
Today, I asked Mrs. Brown for my second letter of recommendation and she agreed to do it. She knows my work habits and me more personally than any of my teachers. Mrs. Brown is too cool!

Project 365 Day #46: What Falls in Fall
This is a surprise. Its snowing in October and that's unusual. I didn't actually believe the news was going to be true. I wish it would've lasted longer and made a bigger impact so we can have some school delays, but that's too bad. It got me thinking of Christmas early. Its right around the corner! Today, I also went up to New Town for band practice. We're preparing for the pep rally and got a nice show. Only most of the drum line showed up, and we're almost ready!

Project 365 Day #45: Haunted Friday
Today was too fun! I was invited by Morin to join the National Honor Society on one of their field trips and we went to a haunted house. I never been to one before so I was pumped! First, we all had gone out to eat at Golden Corral, out Arundel Mills. Then, we made our way to Bennet's Curse. Once we got there, I started to feel a chill. Standing in line waiting to enter the haunted house was suspenseful and fun. It was 12 of us, so I was confident. The plan was for me, Morin, and Iyin to stay in the middle of the group, however, that didn't work out. We got separated. They were right up front and I ended up in the back with Thomas (lol). It was too wild! We was being followed and actors were popping out from every corner or wall. I rarely got scared, but I had fun. I want to go to haunted houses more often now.

Project 365 Day #44: Music Genius 2
Terrell Phillips. We both started our drive as drummers at the same time, but he ended up nicer! Together, we've been in several bands. Being percussionists in The Marching Elite is where we both grew and became very adept. Rell is really skillful in his rudiments and can play almost anything. He has the skills to play in DCI (Drum Corps International). I'm right behind him with a little more work and effort. However, he plans to not go to college, so I don't know where his talent will end up.

Project 365 Day #43: Navy Band
The Navy Band came to New Town! Every year I enjoy their performance. This year they played a very interesting and fun piece called Godzilla Eats Las Vegas. It included different styles of music genre and a lot of sounds besides their instruments like voice, telling a cool story. Also, I got to watch a few of my peers perform on stage with them. Shout outs to Jason, Mike, and Jaseem. After the performance, a few members of the band held sectional clinics with all of us students. It was cool because I got to learn about having a music career. They talked about music decisions in college and what we need to do to prepare for the journey. For a little bit, they showed us some skills on the instrument, things I already knew though.

Project 365 Day #42: Random Act of Kindness
It took me a while, but I've accomplished my random act of kindness. I was having a good day today. In school, my classmate, Jaseem, had asked me for a dollar because he was hungry. Without even thinking about it, I gave it to him. Like five minutes later in the period I realized what I did (lol). I can't afford to be giving away a dollar, times is hard. It was nice of me though, whoever I was.

Project 365 Day #41: Academic Honesty
Today in Mr. Daniels' class, my college algebra teacher, he approached us about academic honesty. He suspected that most of the class were cheating and copying each other's homework. So, he had us reflect on what we thought academic honesty was, what it meant to us, and the value of it. To me, academic honesty is being independent in your understanding or knowledge of the criteria in order to do your own work. This is important because cheating can only get you so far. If you don't practice the work, you won't have the ability and skills to succeed on your own.

Project 365 Day #40: Restricted
Living with Mr. Rodney is the good life! Especially since he has a PlayStation 3. Me and my brothers be on it all the time, and that cause a not so good impact. Now, we only are allowed to play it on the weekends. That's sorta okay because it is a distraction from work on weekdays, but we be TOO bored now. I REALLY look forward to weekends now.

Project 365 Day #39: Family Time
Saturday morning. I'm used to my mom always waking up and cooking us a nice breakfast, but instead she decided to take us out to eat. We went to Bob Evans and had a nice time. Ofcourse we had the family discussion where the children gets interrogated, but I never really tell her anything important anyway. I had also discussed my future plans and goals with my mother. She was interested in hearing what I was going to do when I graduate.

Project 365 Day #38: Chill Time
Another day off! Its Friday and I started my three day weekend off chills. I spent the day with a couple of my friends, Darien and Morin. Nothing special, just chilled and watched movies.

Project 365 Day #37: Recommendation 1
Ms. Harris was the #1 teacher I was looking for to write my letter of recommendation. All four years of my high school career, she has helped better me in my musical talents. A recommendation in music would be perfect for my admission to college. It would look good, being that I might major in the music field and trying out to be in a college marching band.

Project 365 Day #35: Promising Path
Today was the first official, House of Hyperion meeting. Things are looking great for our house's future. We have a lot of great young minds, all willing to express their ideas they have for the group. We discussed our agenda and plans, listened to their thoughts, and enjoyed the meeting.
Another highlight of the day was the TGIT video. This was very insightful. Key tips ET gave was to take responsibility, makeup when you mess up, and give everything 100%. I need to work on each of these aspects because I haven't been giving much effort lately. With work, he said, you can have whatever you like, only if your willing to struggle for it. Without struggle, there is no progress!

Project 365 Day #34: Senior Portrait
Senior portraits! If I knew I would've gotten my hair cut when I had the chance last week. But hey, they turned out nice. I look tough. I showed my family em' and everybody got hype (lol). They say I'm getting grown and handsome, starting to look like my uncle.

Project 365 Day #33: Healthy Environment
Its hard sharing a room with siblings, especially if they the type who doesn't take care of things. Our room is just cluttered, clothes and trash everywhere. Today, by myself, I cleaned the room. Cleaning up after my brothers..ODeeee. But it needed to be done because it was uncomfortable being in there. Now, I can actually chill in my room and have some space.

Project 365 Day #32: March in DC
The March for Jobs and Justice. I missed the opportunity to see the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial. My brother and grandmother had went and left me behind. I heard it was good/bad experience. It was sought as MLK's dream being alive and still being fulfilled. Others thought it was a disgrace held by Al Sharpton. My brother had told me people was saying this whole march was for Obama and Sharpton replied, "This not for Obama, this for my mama!!" (lol)

Project 365 Day #31: Uncle Eric
Eric, my young uncle, had paid me a visit. He's cool to hang with, trying to act young and fun, but yet mature and mentoring. We talk about everything going on in our lives, keeping each other up to date and advising one another. He's supportive and I can count on him for anything. It's good to have good influences in your life.

Project 365 Day #30: College Application Process
I realized that the beginning of the college application process really starts today. During my English class, one of the school counselors had visited the class to discuss the going to college process. This information was helpful, considering what colleges to look for, admissions criteria, and other resources. Now, I need to research and get started.

Project 365 Day #29: Off the Line
Today was my last practice with Milford. Its something I want to do, but just not the right time. I have a lot of priorities I should be working on. Additional to that, I just cant afford their band dues. So there's just one activity I won't be participating in. That's a shame because they were going to play with Howard this weekend. Plus, all of their other performances coming up in the future would've been fun.

Project 365 Day #27: Old Bad Habits
Growing up, there are some things you need to stop. Bad habits are not a good thing to have and mines would be biting my nails. I've been biting them for the longest and I always bluff when I claim I'm going to stop. This time I mean it! Its not a good habit to keep doing for the rest of my life.

Project 365 Day #26: Dick's Last Resort
Tonight, I went out to eat with the family. My mother wanted to go somewhere different, so she found Dick's. She was so eager to take us here, but I already knew about the whole experience. I played along. The service is so rude, but funny at the same time. All we could do was laugh at them, and everybody there. They make these hats with some written insult on them and they are hilarious. My little brother was made one and it said, "Stop Snitchin." I had a good time out.

Project 365 Day #25: Battle!
Morgan State Homecoming Day. Their homecoming parade was today and Milford was in it. Either I wasn't ready to play or I just didn't feel like it because I didn't go. I still wanted to go see the parade, but those plans didn't work out either. After all of the festivities, I heard Milford and City College battled! They are rival bands by the way. The messages I've been receiving was that Milford got fried, and I believe that! Like their drum line really is not nice this year and hopefully I can TRY and turn things around. I'ma make em into the old Marching Elite. But, I found this video when Milford's drum line was tough and fierce battling City College at Morgan's Homecoming.

Project 365 Day #24: Tori
If you didn't know, my brother Troy had a daughter last year. Tori is growing up for real! She's only one. I remember when she was a baby just always crying, couldn't even crawl or speak, but now she's everywhere! Walking, talking, always laughing, this girl be doing some of the most funniest things ever. I love my niece.

Project 365 Day #22: On the Line
I made it to Milford's practice on time today, despite the car situation after school. Today, I was able to strap up and play on the line! For now, I was on the bottom bass. I'm going to make it on the tonal line easily, eventually. I personally think that their drum line sucks and I'm nicer than every one of them, not to brag, but its true. I love the horns though! They really have skillful players. I learned some of their cadences today and we marched all around the neighborhood and school. I haven't marched in a while, especially with the bottom bass. It was heavy, the harness was uncomfortable, and we never got time to rest and put it down. I was so sore after that practice, but overall, I enjoyed it. I only wished New Town could grow as this.

Project 365 Day #21: Unproductivve
As soon as I got home from school, I went to sleep. There was nothing that came to mind which I should be doing, so I did nothing. I didn't have any homework or chores to do. Milford's band had practice, but it was too late for me to go. The rest of the whole day, I basically watched television and played my PS3. It probably was something to do, but I just didn't think of anything.

Project 365 Day #20: Broke!
After my weekend expenses, I am officially broke! That's not good. All I had left today was six dollars, which I spent. I really do need a job again. That's one of my top goals this month.

Project 365 Day #19: Boring
Today was just a tiring and dull day. I didn't even wake up and start my day til about 12 o' clock. Outside was just so gloomy and cold because of the rain. All I really did today was hop on the laptop and PS3, and did homework, nothing too much fun and interesting. I do have a highlight of the day though. Jasmine stopped by to drop something off. On the inside I was happy to see her, but I didn't even show it. I was so lethargic I barely said anything to her. Really disappointed afterwards that I didn't. Oh well.
Project 365 Day #18: Girls Day/Night Out
It's Saturday and I have plans! But, I had to wait til Morin gets finished with her SATs (another day with Morin). Today was football game day and we were going to the New Town vs. Randallstown game. While I waited for Morin, I visited the Milford vs. Woodlawn game just to see what Milford's band was up to. Eventually, she finally came to pick me up. First, we had to pick up her friend, Imani, who just had came from New Jersey. Then, we went to the game. We got there too late and the game was over, but New Town won 61-0! We then decided to visit Iyin at her house. For hours we chilled there, waiting for Ameechi to arrive. They was taking her out to dinner at TGIFs for her birthday, and I still just tagged along. That Jack Daniel burger I bought was a waste of my money because I wasn't even hungry. After, they were having a sleepover at Morin's house. I was invented to stay for a while, but it eventually ended up being most of the night. As soon as we had put a movie on, everyone drop dead asleep! Only me and Ien stayed up through the whole movie. I had a fun time out with the girls (no homo)!
